Fillers and additives are indispensable components in the plastics industry for specifically controlling the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of plastics. Fillers such as glass fibers and calcium carbonate improve mechanical properties, while additives such as plasticizers, stabilizers, and dyes influence the processing and durability of plastics.

Typical questions we address include the determination and distribution of:

• Brominated/phosphorus-containing flame retardants
• (UV) stabilizers, antioxidants

A variety of options are available to us for investigation. Highlights include our 400 MHz NMR spectrometer and our SEM-EDX, with which we can directly quantify the amount of additives and precisely determine their distribution across a component. Furthermore, all common methods are at our disposal, enabling us to answer even the most complex questions.
