This involves not only a simple polymer characterization, but also filler contents (e.g., glass fibers) or the detection of prohibited additives or auxiliary materials. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3802ed5 cmsmasters-block-default cmsmasters-sticky-default elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3802ed5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Infrared Spectroscopy (IR)<\/h3><p>IR spectroscopy allows the identification of various polymers through spectrum comparison with databases. Simple material mix-ups can thus be reliably ruled out. However, IR spectroscopy can also be used to characterize the main components of coating systems.  <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5672b56 cmsmasters-block-default cmsmasters-sticky-default elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5672b56\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">Glass Fiber Content<\/h3><p>To determine the glass fiber content, the ignition residue of a sample is determined. While organic components burn off during ignition, the inorganic glass fibers remain in the crucible.
